Took the sominex...it still took a few hours to really take effect, but once I was asleep, I had one of the most restful nights I've had in months. I can't remember the last time I was this awake in the morning.

Hooray!

When you come to rely on a crutch for so long it becomes inconceivable to imagine life without it. In fact, one can come up with many seemingly-logical reasons why they still use the crutch.

Might I recommend a herbal alternative? Passionflower is some great stuff. It's gentler than valerian (which I do NOT recommend you take), but more effective than the oh-so-gentle and calming chamomile for actually getting you to sleep.
