SRC is ~2.5 hours away by straight car; getting in by bus is trickier, involving several bus changes and quite a bit of money. I'm going to try to make it in sometime; Todd wants to go in, see some friends, and hit the pubs at some point, so I may be able to snag transportation then.
You just need to take a train from Pittsfield to Worcster, and then take the commuter train into the city, the actually train ticket will be like 24 bucks round trip if purchased in advance, and I think the commuter train is like 4 bucks per way ^_^
