Mar. 12th, 2002 10:44 pmFeeling less sick now. Guess it was just a brief malfunction.
Today was crappy, physics lab ran an hour over and it still isn't done due to all of the conductive-ink pens breaking; I have to go back Thursday to finish it. Grr. On the other hand, I got to go into town courtesy of James Lamdin and his car.
That man drives like a maniac, but it somehow ends up being right. He takes risks, but they're exactly calculated...great fun, even for that mere 10-minute drive, with Moby's remix of the James Bond theme blaring and poor Felix hunkering down with his fingers in his ears, hiding from the crazy Americans.
Switching into Geek briefly, I made LDAP authentication work on ldprime. Going to set up ldslave1 to try to bind to it tomorrow, assuming Vasya got Debian installed. It's so cool to - I tried it, of course - log in to a machine with no /etc/{passwd,group,shadow}; once this all goes live on ishtar next year,
neuromantic will *never* be able to Do That again. ;)
A big step closer to One Login/Passwd to Rule them All 'cross campus. Definitely a good thing.
Think I'll chill out for a bit more tonight, maybe go over to Jake and Paulo's. I don't have any homework tonight, and since no calc, I'll actually be able to eat lunch tomorrow. Damn exams do have their advantages, I suppose...though I think I did not too badly on it. At least partial credit on every problem.
I've rambled enough.
