May. 27th, 2001 12:34 amAbout four years ago, I lost my Muse.
What? As surprising as it may sound, I used to write. A lot. Poetry, short stories - hell, even some song lyrics. All crap, considering how young I was, but...yeah. Sixth grade made me lose it - grades 6-8 at my old-old school being basically a preview of high school, down to the social environment and therefore rather stifling...
This leads up to today's minor epiphany in the car coming home. William Blake probably described best what I felt - like his Poetic Genius was a thread, and I had grasped it. For an instant, white-hot lines of verse scored across my mind...and then vanished, leaving behind a feeling of...oddness. I honestly don't know what to call it - 'questing', perhaps.
I intend to rediscover my Muse. I will honestly set out to, for the first time since sixth grade, CREATE SOMETHING
Segue to the other point of this post. I've been in an incredible rut since before I started this journal, and I want to thank everyone reading this for helping me in climbing out of it. You're all infinitely better people - more creative, more insightful, almost CERTAINLY more intelligent, everything that I supopose I can want - than I could ever aspire to be. You all can think. Thank you for helping one such as me attempt to.
