Apr. 27th, 2001 02:37 pmI hate when people (mostly girls) tell me to not be sad that no girl really likes me now, just wait until I get rich and then I'll have to practically beat them off with a stick.
It's really starting to piss me off when they say things like it; not only does it iimply strongly that I'm too ugly and boring to be able to attract anyone short of practically buying them, but it implies that I'm so shallow that I wouldn't care if someone "loved" me just for my money. Rrgh.

Date: 2001-04-27 04:53 pm (UTC)I used to struggle a bit with the whole "being attractive" deal, and got sick of it pretty early because I figured that anyone who liked me as I was, really liked me and not the image? Since I'm married with three kids now, it's not really an issue, as long as I pay some attention to my wife :)

Date: 2001-04-27 07:23 pm (UTC)I was offered a job at the bank where my grandmother works helping out with their computers and things. However, their computers are all Windows machines, so I turned it down.
My dad commented afterwards, something to the effect of, "You know, people in computer science generally make a lot of money, but probably not the ones who are always going 'Microsoft SUCKS! Linux RULES! Use Linux!'"
As if I were ever in it for the money to begin with.
