I suppose I should probably make some sort of new year's resolutions, as well...
1. Be less shy.
2. Obtain female companionship (hah, yeah right)
3. Finally decide on, implement, and FINISH some programming project
4. Make myself do homework at least once or twice a week. Today's effort has proved that it can be done.
5. Did I mention be less shy?
More as I think of them. Comments welcome.

Female companionship, eh?
Date: 2000-12-31 05:28 pm (UTC)In case you just want friendship, that's pretty easy for anyone to do. But in case you want something more, or a friendship develops into something more, then...
Lots of us nerdbois want romantically inclined female or male companionship, especially that which actually carries some emotional and physical attachment. But before you make that decision, make sure that you yourself are ready for it. By that, I mean that you're ready to devote lots of time, energy, and, in most cases, money, into the relationship (although you're a smart one, so you'll figure out ways to budget). Also, you're gonna really start seeing the world from another angle, and things are gonna change dramatically for you, and perhaps never return to the way things were before. Relationships between you and your friends are going to change, in subtle ways. You gotta be willing to accept all of that, and although it's a different experience for different people, it has the same severity. And, most importantly, you're going to have to start rearranging some of your ideas of who you care about more. It's often a fine line between that other person and yourself, and sometimes, people can't resolve that. Gay or straight, it doesn't matter. Enjoy the ride (yes, that can be taken both ways, depending on your relationship ;) ).
