Well, that was really cool.
I visited a high school in Hoboken that would be willing to take me as early as next week, and it was...awesome. The classes were really interesting - how often do you see three students and a teacher arguing about the interpretation of marriage in Paradise Lost -, the people were definitely geekish, and there's a gaping technical vacuum they want someone badly to fill.
Woo.
I think I'm going to end up going there.

Sounds good. :) I know when I was in high school, I was grateful to be chosen to go to the local Math and Science Center for half the day all 4 years. I wish I could have gone to a cooler high school like it full-time. :) Good luck. :)

Well, looks like you've found a good place. A discussion like the one you mentioned typically only takes place at the higher levels of education. Ooh, and while you're at it, fuck the people there up by asking them to come up with and defend a complex thesis concerning the economic inpterpretation of arete (honor) in The Aeneid...hehehehe.
