In an odd way, I am a teacher.
The students in Marshal's Sysadmin and Linux course get about a third of what they know from class, a third from experience, and a third from exceedingly informal Q&A and hands-on work with me.

It feels good. I love seeing the lightbulb go on.

Does this mean I shouldn't feel like I'm imposing if I ever come down there after I give up with X-windows on this laptop? ;-)

I'm glad you enjoy it. Being able to help people or do something for them with my computer knowledge and have them really appreciate it or marvel at it is the best part of knowing any of this stuff.
