Area:2 was fucking great.

We didn't see Ash, because his stage time coincided with DJ Tiesto's deck time, which would have been more enjoyable had someone not messed with the volume settings, making it impossible to hear the music through sheer volume. It sounded nice, though his visuals really sucked. :P
Speaking of visuals, Dieselboy, who was on before Tiesto, had on two of his screens an anime whose main characters were a kid in a baseball cap, an old professor type, and a woman. The plot seemed to revolve around a black triangle-thing with markings on it, and circuitry. Circuitry almost everywhere the triangle-thing touched. Anyone want to take a guess at what it was?
We left halfway through Tiesto's set to see Blue Man Group pefrorm. That...well, wasn't as good as their performance art. The vocals really sucked, and the unique BMG instruments kind of got overshadowed by drums. Still amusing, though.
Went back to the DJ tent, caught the end of Tiesto and beginning of Digweed's, which was also quite cool. Went back to main stage, saw the last few minutes of Busta Rhymes, which was vaguely amusing, and hung out for about half an hour.
Then David Bowie came on. He has...what may be one of the most amazing stage presences I've ever seen. It's a tad hard to describe, but...wow. He played awesomely, and I only wish I'd had a better seat. Amazing man, you'd never know he's as old as he is.
The capstone of the night was Moby, who absolutely rocketed to the top of my personal coolness chart after seeing him. He's a real bundle of energy on stage, but manages to maintain a laid-back air all the same, somehow...played a lot of crowd favorites, some stuff from the new album, and, most amusingly, a faux-hip hop number with him in an Afro. His between-song patter was hilarious, and when people heckled him in the crowd, he called them up onstage and put the pressure on them - everyone bood. :P

After Moby ended (unfortunately :(), we went back to the car only to find that the E-brake was stuck in on position. About half an hour of fiddling, moving, and outright hammering on it made it come unstuck, and we proceeded cautiously home.
Dave is sleeping in the next room now. It's been a good day

(Note: The anime was not pokemon. There are other things with kids in hats on backwards)

Heya, I found your name through one of my other LJ buddies, I think cuz you said that you liked Chicane and Tiesto... glad to hear you liked the concert a whole lot, I'm going tomorrow to see it at Jones Beach, and I hoep it all works out. I've seen Dieselboy before in Buffalo, he's pretty good, but I'm mostly going for Tiesto and Digweed.. what type of music did the both of them play if ya don't mind me asking? Did Tiesto play real epic or harder trance, and did Diggers play progressive or more mellow breakbeat? I'm dying to see this now..
