Oct. 10th, 2001 05:13 pmAddendum to previous entry: As NetBSD doesn't use the same password hashing algorithm as Linux did, I need people with accounts to somehow communicate new temporary passwords to me.
I can be found on irc.esper.net, irc.slashnet.org, and irc.debian.org, all under nick 'teferi'.

Date: 2001-10-10 04:39 pm (UTC)Or, are you using md5 passwords on Linux?
Doesn't NetBSD support PAM now, too? Perhaps you can set up NetBSD/PAM to make use of md5 passwords?

Date: 2001-10-10 05:26 pm (UTC)I know NetBSD supports PAM. . . I've never gotten around to even trying to get md5 passwords working with it, though. I prolly should, since I hate having my NetBSD box sitting there with crusty DES passwords. . .

Date: 2001-10-10 05:48 pm (UTC)I did just check, though, and PAM is under ~/pkgsrc/security, installing that and adding an argument to a config file might be all that's needed. ;-)
