Jan. 19th, 2005 02:17 amSo, uh, anyone out there got a recent-ish IBM ThinkPad? I'm trying to upgrade the BIOS on my T40, and I seem to have run into a nasty dependency loop.
I have old, old, ooold versions of the BIOS and Embedded Controller Program, both of which I want to upgrade. The problem is that the IBM webpages tell me that a newer BIOS will only work with a newer ECP than I have, and a newer ECP will only work with a newer BIOS than I have.
So, uh, anyone out there have any ideas? If not, I'll give IBM support a call tomorrow, but it'd be cool if I could figure it out without having to get them into it...
