Sep. 21st, 2001 03:15 pmFirst post from laptop running X. Woot.
I had a bit of a nightmare getting everything working...turns out that the only version of Card Services that works with this laptop (in my experience) is the one that came with the potato installer.
Wish I had realized that BEFORE I reinstalled twice, heh.
So, I got that working, then ran into hassles with X...turns out that the GeForce2Go requires a kernel module AND a special X module (standard nv_drv.o doesn't work). And the nvidia tarball didn't install the X driver on the first pass, so I had some fun there.
But it alkl works now, and X/GNOME looks great.
Hell, even 3D acceleration is working. If I just hadn't been stupid and committed OTAA (thanks, star) error after error, I'd have been done by the end of last night.
Anyway, going to go get dressed now.
